Meet the Team: Neil, Business Development Manager

Say hello to Neil our Business Development Manager and one of the longest-serving members of the team. With an incredible 24 years at Stocksigns under his belt, Neil is a true font of knowledge when it comes to LED signage, projects, and quite often… IT fixes too.

If there’s a tricky question about signs, systems, or specifications, chances are Neil’s already been asked it and probably answered it.

Life at Stocksigns

Neil’s day-to-day role focuses on quoting and specifying a wide range of LED road sign projects, helping customers find the right solutions for their needs. No two days are ever the same. One minute he’s deep into project specifications, the next he’s being asked a completely random question about signage or roped in to fix an unexpected IT issue much to everyone’s relief.

One project Neil is particularly proud of is The Silvertown VMS screen project for TfL, delivered via Cubic Transportation. It stands out as a favourite thanks to its scale, complexity, and the impact it has on keeping road users informed.

What does Neil enjoy most about the role?

The variety.

Every project brings its own unique quirks and challenges, which keeps the work interesting and ensures there’s never a dull moment.

Career Journey & Fun Facts

Neil’s career journey at Stocksigns is a story of growth and adaptability. He originally joined the company 24 years ago in a Customer Service role, and over the years has worn many hats including Purchasing and carrying out on-site surveys. This hands-on experience across the business gives Neil a well-rounded perspective that’s invaluable to both customers and colleagues.

One of the key skills he’s developed during his time here is a deep understanding of LED technology and protocols, making him a go-to expert within the team.

When it comes to working with colleagues, Neil says what he enjoys most is:

“The never-ending questions.”

Fun Facts about Neil:

• He’s a DJ in his spare time, proving his talents extend well beyond signage.
• If he wasn’t doing this job, he’d be living it large in Ibiza.
• To unwind, Neil loves escaping on his mountain bike, either solo or with friends.
• He’s allergic to cats and dogs annoyingly so.
• And perhaps the most impressive stat of all: he’s been married to Stocksigns longer than his wife!
