Meet the Team: Josh Our Senior Commercial Manager

Say hello to Josh our Senior Commercial Manager here at Messagemaker Displays. Josh plays a key role in driving our sales activity across the UK roads and rail sectors, building strong client relationships, and making sure our safety solutions are delivered exactly when and where they’re needed.

If you’ve met Josh at a networking event or spoken to him about a project, you’ll know he’s passionate about people, problem-solving, and doing things properly.

Life at Messagemaker Displays

Josh leads and grows Messagemaker’s sales function within the UK roads and rail markets. His role covers everything from securing new business and managing key accounts, to supporting the wider sales team as a team leader and helping connect sales with other departments across the business.

No two days look the same. One day Josh might be in the office working closely on a live project to ensure it meets the client’s requirements. The next, he could be travelling across the country to meet clients or attend industry networking events. Wherever he is, one thing stays constant he’s always in touch with clients, making sure their needs are met and that safety solutions are ready to be delivered when required.

When asked what project he’s most proud of, Josh finds it hard to choose just one. Instead, he looks at the bigger picture:

“Looking back over the last six years, seeing how the projects I’ve worked on have grown and evolved year after year is what I’m most proud of.”

And what keeps the job exciting?

The people.

From colleagues across Messagemaker to the many industry professionals he meets around the UK, it’s the relationships that make the role truly rewarding.

Career Journey

Josh began his career after graduating from university with a degree in Business Management, which included a specialist in sales and marketing. Keen to put theory into practice, he went straight into sales to experience the real-world side of business.

Since joining Messagemaker, one of the biggest lessons he’s learned is how a business really works:

“When you come out of uni, you think you know a lot of the answers already. Being part of a growing business teaches you far more than any textbook ever could.”

A few fun facts about Josh:

• He used to live in Spain
• He’s a Brighton & Hove Albion supporter, following the highs and lows with true dedication.
• Josh is also known for knowing a surprising number of fun facts about animals so if a conversation ever turns to wildlife trivia, he’s likely to steal the spotlight.

When he’s not working, you’ll usually find Josh networking, catching up with industry contacts, or sharing one of his many animal facts with the team.
